This study aims to evaluate the safety, tolerability and effectiveness of S-4321 in people living with an autoimmune or immune-mediated disease. This specific study is focusing on, psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis, cutaneous lupus erythematosus and atopic dermatitis (eczema).
An immune-medicated condition occurs when the body’s immune system becomes overactive or doesn’t work as it should. Instead of only protecting you from infections, it can mistakenly attack health cells, tissues or organs, leading to ongoing inflammation and symptoms.
Conditions such as psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis, cutaneous lupus erythematosus and atopic dermatitis (eczema) are all examples of immune-mediated diseases that occur due to inflammation triggered by an overactive response of the immune system to its own body tissues.
This study is important because it is testing a potential new treatment for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis, cutaneous lupus erythematosus and atopic dermatitis (eczema). This new treatment may potentially reset the immune system into a more balanced state.
